Financial Information

The annual operating budget for Gilda’s Club Desert Cities for 2011-2012 is approximately $700,000. This will provide our professionally facilitated program for up to 650 members per year and include a variety of support groups, and offerings in education, healthy lifestyle, social opportunities, as well as information and referrals. Our planning budget, accounting for differences in local labor and real estate markets as well as staffing strategy, falls well within the actual experience of our non-profit colleagues, giving us a high degree of confidence in our estimations. Led by President/CEO Maria Elena Geyer, with members of a devoted Board of Directors and an equally passionate Development Committee an intensive effort to secure major gifts from individuals, foundations and businesses in our Eastern Riverside territory has been launched. Proceeds from our signature special events, while laying the foundation for our future annual fund, will be dedicated to support core operations for the duration of fiscal year 2011-2012.

As an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community (CSC), Gilda’s Club Desert Cities remains an independent non-profit, however CSC provides guidance and governance to ensure that affiliates maintain the exceptionally high standards of service (and fiscal responsibility) that have made Cancer Support Community an internationally recognized gold standard of psychosocial cancer support.  It is important to note that all funds raised for the Gilda’s Club Desert Cities program remain in the Desert to support our fellow community members.
