This lecture looks at an exciting new development in treating cancer – immuno-oncology, sometimes known as immunotherapy. Hear how these drugs use the body’s own immune system to help recognize and attack certain cancers, including melanoma, bladder, prostate, colorectal, ovarian, lung, and breast, as well as some head and neck cancers.

Dr. Timothy Tyler is the Director of Pharmacy, Lab and Oncology Supportive Care Services at the Comprehensive Cancer Center on the campus of Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He is responsible for ambulatory oncology care including pain management and all medication use in clinics and has held this position since 1994. Dr. Tyler is also co-chair of the Complementary Medicine Program and leader of the pain service. He has served as adjunct clinical faculty at the University of Southern California for the past 20 years.
