Guided Imagery is a relaxation tool that aims to ease stress while promoting a sense of peace and tranquility during difficult times. Through a simple guided imagery exercise followed by Q&A, participants discover how to cultivate the natural capacity for compassion and joy, helping to lessen the effects of chronic illness and many other life stressors. Join us for her relaxing guided imagery workshop, followed by Q&A. Light refreshments from 11:30 am – 12:00 pm, workshop from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm.
Betsy Michel RN, BSN a retired oncology nurse from Minneapolis, started her nursing career on the Oncology Unit of a tertiary care hospital in Minneapolis. She then switched gears and led the Community Clinical Oncology Program, a community based research group that enrolled oncology patients on clinical trials. She developed a passion for facilitating support and education groups for patients with chronic illnesses. She now volunteers leading and teaching support groups on complementary therapies such as mediation and guided imagery to help alleviate or lessen the effects of chronic illness. She spends the winters in the California desert with her husband and enjoys playing and watching tennis, cooking and movies.
