As the Southern California End of Life Counselors Team Leader for Compassions & Choices (the nation’s oldest, largest, nonprofit working to improve care and advocate for the peaceful end of life for all), Karen Morin Green, RN, has spoken to all types of audiences about death and dying and the current movement to give more voice to patients to have a role in where and when they would like to die and to advocate for themselves.
Karen will discuss the use of Hospice and Palliative Care as well as the new California Medical Aid in Dying Law, addressing the question: Is it for everyone? Her presentation will include helpful information on Advance Directives, POLST, and talking with your family about death.

Karen Morin Green,RN, has healthcare experience both in Oncology and Hospice work that spans more than three decades. Karen first worked in an AIDS unit before moving to the Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and then worked extensively with home hospice services. Karen was at weSPARK Cancer Support Center in Sherman Oaks when it was founded. At WeSPARK she served as the Oncology Resource Nurse and ran its metastatic and caregiver support groups. She presently serves on their Board of Directors.
